Sato, Villeneuve punished for Suzuka incidents.
Takuma Sato and Jacques Villeneuve have been taken to task by the stewards for their part in separate incidents during the Japanese Grand Prix.
Sato received the harshest rap, being excluded from the results after a collision with Jarno Trulli that forced the Italian out and halved Toyota's effort. Sato was attempting to atone for a lap one off when the pair collided on lap ten, the BAR-Honda lifting the Toyota into the air in an ill-advised move at the chicane. Sato accused of making an ill-advised manoeuvre and struck from the 13th place he occupied in the initial results.

Villeneuve was also penalised for his part in the lap one incident that saw Juan Montoya in the barriers and out of the race, denting McLaren's hopes of building on its constructors' series points.
The stewards decreed that the Canadian forced Montoya off the road at the final corner, as the McLaren driver was attempting to capitalise on the former's mistake at the chicane. Unlike Sato, however, Villeneuve was slapped with a 25secs penalty which dropped him just one place in the order, from eleventh to twelfth, and promoting Rubens Barrichello.
