JWRC: Stobart confirms junior campaign.

Stobart Motorsport has confirmed that it is to enter the FIA Junior World Rally Championship alongside its full WRC campaign this season.

The team will run a Ford Fiesta for Scottish driver Barry Clark who will be contest the JWRC alongside his MSA British Rally Championship and Fiesta Sporting Trophy campaigns.

The 23-year-old, who drove a Subaru Impreza for the team in the British series last season, admitted he was excited by the year ahead.

Stobart Motorsport has confirmed that it is to enter the FIA Junior World Rally Championship alongside its full WRC campaign this season.

The team will run a Ford Fiesta for Scottish driver Barry Clark who will be contest the JWRC alongside his MSA British Rally Championship and Fiesta Sporting Trophy campaigns.

The 23-year-old, who drove a Subaru Impreza for the team in the British series last season, admitted he was excited by the year ahead.

"It's certainly going to be a busy year for me," he said. "Competing in the British Rally Championship, the Junior World Rally Championship and the Fiesta Sporting Trophy means I'm going to get a fantastic season of rallying and I can only thank the Stobart Motorsport Team for that."

The team are taking advantage of the increased media exposure provided by the JWRC with Clarks entry made possible by the relaxation of rules allowing 2.0 litre Group N cars to be eligible for the championship which runs alongside nine of the World Rally Championship rounds in 2006.

Clark will take part in the six JWRC rounds that coincide with the Fiesta Sporting Trophy events, namely Spain, Corsica, Sardinia, Germany, Finland and Wales Rally GB.

"This program provides Barry with an excellent opportunity to develop his competitive career," Stobart Motorsport spokesman Willie Paterson said. "The new regulations permitting the dual registration within the Fiesta Sporting Trophy and the JWRC will provide Barry with the very best opportunity to gain valuable WRC experience whilst remaining in the most competitive of environments."

Clark will make his first appearance on Rally Catalunya next month.
