Reigning Junior World Rally champion, Daniel Sordo conducted his first test with the Citroen Xsara WRC last week.

Sordo, who will defend his Junior WRC crown in 2006, will make his debut in a fully fledged World Rally Car at the Rallye Monte Carlo next week, when Kronos Racing run a third car for the Spaniard, in addition to the two they will run for double World Rally champion, Sebastien Loeb and Xavier Pons.

According to a brief report on Sordo's official website, the test took place in the South of France and although testing was made difficult by snow, the chance to try out the Xsara in such icy conditions, could prove advantageous, in light of the fact that the Rallye Monte Carlo is frequently held in such conditions.

Although Sordo's precise schedule has yet to be determined, as well contesting the JWRC in a C2 S1600 run by PH Sport this year, he will also tackle between five to seven 'senior' events in an Xsara WRC run by Kronos.

Kronos ran Sordo's programme in the JWRC last year, but following Citroen's decision to take a sabbatical from the sport, ahead of their official return in 2007 with the C4, Kronos will concentrate solely on running the Xsara WRC's in 2006.
