Miller was top Ducati in fourth, while Espargaro claimed an excellent fifth for Aprilia, helped by a tow.
Brother Pol missed Qualifying after a left wrist fracture caused by a final practice highside. The KTM rider will miss Sunday's race and is uncertain for Thailand.
Former team-mate Zarco has been replaced by KTM test rider Kallio for the remainder of the season. Smith is making his final wild-card of the year for Aprilia.
