The young Frenchman moved to the top ahead of fellow Yamaha rider Vinales - quickest for most of the session - in the closing minutes.
Lorenzo had a new Honda fairing with more bracing for his knees, plus the carbon-fibre covered frame, but suffered a fast accident at Turn 7 late in the session.

Although able to walk away, the triple MotoGP champion was clearly shaken and taken by ambulance to the medical centre. Lorenzo was already sore from a big testing accident in Barcelona.
UPDATE: Lorenzo has been taken to hospital for further checks.
