After initial checks at the track medical centre, Dovizioso has been transferred to Coventry Hospital for head scans after the hit “that caused a momentary loss of memory”, according to Ducati.
The Italian manufacturer also confirmed the 33-year-old has not sustained any broken bones.
It marks the second time Dovizioso has been taken out of a race by another rider this season following a crash triggered by Jorge Lorenzo at the Catalan MotoGP.
Dovizioso now trails Marquez by 78 points in the riders’ world championship standings with seven rounds to go, with Alex Rins closing up to 23 points behind the Italian rider in third place thanks to his victory at Silverstone.
