Tracy ready to 'Monster' opposition in 2007.

Monster Energy and its iconic M-claw logo will adorn the side of Champ Car legend Paul Tracy's helmet from this weekend's Vegas Grand Prix, after the pair agreed to work together in 2007.

The 2003 Champ Car champion joins Monster's motorsport-related ambassador stable, and brings with him a 'foot-to-the-floor, win-at-all-costs' style has made him one of the all-time fan favourites in American open-wheel racing.

"There's definitely a linear relationship between Monster Energy's rapid rise to the upper echelon of the energy drink market and Paul Tracy's brisk ascent to stardom in American open-wheel racing," said Monster Energy president Mark Hall, "We look forward to backing Paul in his quest for victory this summer on the Champ Car World Series tour."

And Tracy admitted that he was 'pumped' by his new association.

"I think the coolest part about this deal is that I'd always stop at the gas station in the morning on my way into the shop and grab a Monster," he explained, "Now it's going to be arriving at the shop on pallets."
