Super Aguri rolled back the years at Silverstone as team principle Aguri Suzuki was joined by fellow former F1 racers Martin Brundle and Christian Danner for a day of running at Silverstone.

The trio took to the track in the Super Aguri SA06 that Takuma Sato drove to tenth place in the Brazilian Grand Prix with all three drivers getting a number of laps behind the wheel of the Honda powered car.

For Suzuki, the test marked the first time he had driven at Silverstone in over ten years and was also his first appearance at the wheel of one of his own cars - the Japanese driver admitting afterwards that the experience had been fun.

"Our event today was really great fun!" he said. "It has been 13 years since I last drove at Silverstone and I enjoyed it very much. I realised, however, that racing with this kind of car was not for me anymore and I am happy to be a team principal. My job now is to encourage young people to race and also reach the pinnacle of motorsport."

Brundle and Danner, now commentators for the ITV and RTL television channels, were given the chance to join the test to celebrate the fine performance by the team in the 2006 season finale, with the day documented by the two broadcasters who currently employ the former race aces.

"We're very appreciative of the great opportunity to test an F1 car on the full Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone," Brundle said. "It has given the ITV viewers a wonderful insight into the 2007 Honda engine, gearbox and Bridgestone Potenza tyres - even some of the current F1 drivers haven't driven on these yet!

"We were able to obtain some very good TV pictures and sound, although I have lost my voice from shouting so hard in the cockpit. I was able to have four or five laps for myself aswell to enjoy the car and I must say that I was impressed by the SA06 car and package - I can fully understand why Taku went so well in Brazil."

Danner was equally delighted with his time at the wheel.

"I feel privileged that I was allowed to drive Aguri's car and I had a lot of fun out there!" he said. "I gradually got used to the car lap by lap and had a great time with the team today."
