Despite leaving the final day of testing at Monza earlier than anticipated, Ralf Schumacher is not thought likely to miss next weekend's Italian Grand Prix at the same circuit.

The German was taken ill during the third and final morning of running in the royal park, leaving test driver Ricardo Zonta to continue single-handed as the Toyota team wrapped up its preparations for the last European grand prix of the season. No details were given of Schumacher's condition at the time, but Toyota has since confirmed to Crash.net that he is not suffering anything serious and should be back in action next week.

"We can confirm that Ralf is in no serious condition, but has just been feeling unwell," a spokeswoman reported, "This should not last longer than a few days, during which, of course, he is being looked after. Therefore, it is not relevant at this stage to question his participation in the Italian GP next weekend."

Schumacher's early exit comes at a point in the season where he has had health problems in the past, missing the Italian Grand Prix on two occasions - in 2003 and 2004 - following accidents in pre-race testing and at the USGP respectively. Both absences came during his time with Williams, but the German bounced back on his first Monza appearance with Toyota, claiming sixth place last season.
