Albers kicks off Silverstone test.
Christijan Albers enjoyed the freedom of Silverstone yesterday [Wednesday] as he started Midland MF1's latest Formula One test just across the road from the team's base.
Running on the British Grand Prix venue's South circuit - as opposed to the full F1 layout - Albers put the team's latest aero developments through their paces before the season resumes with the first European encounter at Imola next weekend. The Dutchman completed 124 laps in dry but blustery and overcast conditions, the equivalent of nearly 400km.

"We ran an updated aero package for the M16 in preparation for Imola, and the data collected correlates well with our predictions for the modifications," chief race and test engineer Dominic Harlow confirmed.
"In addition, Christijan carried out a tyre test programme for the forthcoming events, and we feel we have a good handle on some of the latest developments from Bridgestone that we tried for the first time. We also performed some background work involving brake system modifications and control systems tests."
Test and reserve drive Giorgio Mondini will take over testing duties today [Thursday].
