Credit Suisse confirms BMW involvement.

Whilst its partnership with Sauber will come to an end at the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend, Credit Suisse has confirmed that it will continue to support new 'owners' BMW when the German marque takes over the entry in 2006.

BMW has yet to announce much other than the fact that Nick Heidfeld has been signed from Williams to lead the team, but Credit Suisse revealed after the Japanese Grand Prix that it has signed a contract to act as an official partner to the new-look operation between 2006 and 2008.

BMW has yet to announce much other than the fact that Nick Heidfeld has been signed from Williams to lead the team, but Credit Suisse revealed after the Japanese Grand Prix that it has signed a contract to act as an official partner to the new-look operation between 2006 and 2008.

The confirmation came as the banking giant revealed that it was planning a fitting send-off for out-going team principal Peter Sauber in China, just days before the 2005 Formula One season finale.

"We are very honoured and proud to celebrate Peter Sauber's career and pay tribute to a man who has quietly and professionally contributed significantly to the motorsport industry," CEO Oswald Gr?bel, explained, "Credit Suisse has immensely enjoyed the relationship with Peter and his team and, whilst we are sad to see him leave, we want to take this opportunity to wish him the very best of luck for his new role as a consultant to the new team and its sponsors."

Thursday will see the sponsor play host to various Formula One personalities at an evening event held at Shanghai's Bund 18. The party will have a 'Moments in Time' them, showcasing highlights from Sauber's illustrious 36-year motorsport career.
