The Finn, who private life was the subject of tabloid news over the winter, admitted that, in the scale of things, winning in Monaco was just another step towards catching Fernando Alonso, but the reputation of the race made winning worth commemorating.

"For sure, we will have a good party tonight," he grinned, "It is just the same, you get ten points from this race, but this is a special place and everyone looks in a slightly different way when you win in Monaco.
"A few years ago I got so close, but I couldn't get past Montoya at that time. Now, finally, it has happened. I am very happy. We have good reason to party."
