Webber to train with cycling great.

Determined as ever to prove that he is among the fittest men in Formula One, Mark Webber will undertake another gruelling pre-season work-out before lining up with new team WilliamsF1.

Already renowned for taking part in long distance 'adventure races' in his homeland, the Australian has revealed that he is to spend some time training with six-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong. During the winter, Webber will join the American in Texas as both begin the intensive preparations for their forthcoming seasons.

During the winter, Webber will join the American in Texas as both begin the intensive preparations for their forthcoming seasons.

"I admire people that can do things that I can't do," Webber told the Williams team website, "I don't have many racing drivers as heroes because they do things that I can do, in a sort of way, so I don't really look up to them. I look up to Lance, though, because of what he has gone through."

The Australian met Armstrong, who recovered from cancer to mount his assault on the world's greatest cycle race, during this year's Tour de France, and is under no illusion that the joint training programme will be anything but tough.

"I don't suppose I'll be leading him home," Webber admits.
