Airwaves Ducati rider Leon Haslam topped all five sessions during a two day British Superbike test at Croft, attended by most of the leading riders and teams.

Haslam, who took a pair of second place finishes last time out at Snetterton, produced a best lap time of 1min 20.34secs on race tyres, then ended the test with a lap time of 1min 19.9secs on a qualifying tyre - beating the existing lap record by almost a second.

"I'm over the moon with how things have gone at Croft," beamed Leon. "I've been quickest in every session and on both race and qualifying tyres I've been nearly two seconds quicker than I was when we came here last year. It's looking very good for Knockhill and for the rest of the season."

Nearest to Haslam by the end of the test was Red Bull Honda's Jonathan Rea, who lapped 0.217secs behind the Englishman, while Haslam's team-mate - reigning BSB champion Gregorio Lavilla - set the third best time.

"Testing has gone very well. We've had the opportunity to try a number of different tyres and race settings and it's been good to get back on the bike after a two week break," said the Spaniard, who was 0.648secs slower than Haslam.

Rizla Suzuki's Shane Byrne and Stobart Honda's Michael Rutter completed the top five, while Red Bull Honda's Eugene Laverty set the Supersport pace with tenth overall.

HM Plant Honda didn't attend the Croft test.

Round eight of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship takes place at Knockhill on July 16.
